The key element of gameplay in Dishonored is executing carefully planned kills. The game mechanics combines features of a classic first-person action game with numerous stealth elements, inspired by the cult Thief series. Unjustly convicted warrior easily escapes from prison and starts his private crusade, which aims at regaining his honor and avenging empress's death. Additionally, he possesses a variety of supernatural abilities and powers. However, he doesn't take into account the fact that Corvo is an extremely experienced warrior, who can easily disappear from his enemies' sight and a master of killing, using a number of sophisticated gadgets.
In order to divert attention from the conspiracy he prepared, the assassin falsely accuses the main character of this crime. Players take on the role of Corvo - a former bodyguard of the empress, deceitfully murdered in a coup d'etat led by the corrupt Lord Regent. The game is set in a fictional world which combines elements of 19th century aesthetics and steampunk. The new edition of the game was first prepared for PC and then ported to eighth-generation consoles. Dishonored: Definitive Edition is a complete edition of the bestselling first-person stealth game by French studio Arkane, which debuted in late 2012 on PC and on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles.
